This assessment provides an update to the risk assessments conducted in 2008 in the islands of Haa Dhaalu Atoll Kulhudhuffushi and Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll Thinadhoo in order to understand the vulnerability of the islands towards natural hazards.

The aim of the study is to provide a better understanding of the topography of the island and the physical changes that have occurred since the last assessment and to map these elements against the potential natural hazard risks; Tsunami, swell waves and rainfall flooding predicted for both of the islands.
