Our Energy team is currently working on developing financial programs for energy efficient buildings and energy efficient building retrofits for Ministry of Environment, Maldives. The project is implemented by a team of professional from Riyan and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) India and PWC Maldives.
The project is a component of the larger project “Strengthening Low Carbon Energy Island Strategies Project (LCEI)”, which is funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). LECEI project is designed with a goal of market transformation for energy efficient technologies in buildings and the built environment in the Maldives; and promotion of energy efficiency investments in buildings. The project will target energy efficient technologies and promote emerging low carbon energy technologies for the building sector.
The scope of our service for this component includes:
- Development of innovative financing schemes to incentivize the construction of new energy efficient buildings and energy efficient building retrofits.
- Capacity building for financial institutes for the developed innovative financial schemes.
- Support the demonstration of innovative financing schemes.
This innovative funding mechanical will be linked with the government’s upcoming energy efficient building guideline which is also currently being developed under LECEI project.
