Socioeconomic Research Officer (Local)
No. of vacancies: 1
Minimum Education Qualification:
• Bachelor’s Degree in social research, sociology, social science, development studies,
economics or related field
• Master’s Degree in a related field will be an added advantage
Key Responsibilities:
• Direct and undertake pilot studies and field work
• Design survey tools and samples
• Collect, analyze and interpret qualitative and quantitative data
• Prepare reports based on collected data and information
• Translate questionnaires and reports from Dhivehi to English and Vice Versa
• Project Management for research projects
• Explore business opportunities in socioeconomic research
• Assist in preparing proposals for research projects.
Skills and Experience Requirement:
• 2+ years’ experience in conducting research and assessment in the Maldives using both
qualitative and quantitative data collection methods
• Experience in data analysis and report writing
• Experience in using different data collection tools and software
• Experience in data analysis software such as SPSS or any other similar program will be an
added advantage
• Experience and translating documents in Dhivehi and English will be an added advantage
• Experience in delivering presentations on research findings will be an added advantage
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent presentation skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Dhivehi
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
